What changed
Tax rates and legal defaults change by notification. This page records every change to the tools and guides on the day it ships, including our own mistakes, so you can see how current anything here is.
-
Every tool now uses the GST 2.0 rates
The GST calculator, the invoice generator and all twelve trade formats now offer 5%, 18% and 40% as the main rates in force from 22 September 2025. The abolished 12% and 28% slabs are no longer offered as defaults; the few special rates that survived are listed separately with a note explaining each. A custom rate can be entered for anything not listed.
-
Interest calculator: the 15-day rule and the current bank rate
The late payment interest calculator assumed a 45-day deadline when no credit period was entered. Section 15 of the MSMED Act sets 15 days where payment terms were not agreed in writing, so the calculator now asks whether there was a written agreement and applies 15 days if not. The default Bank Rate is now 5.75%, as set by the RBI on 7 October 2026; it was previously 6.25%. Results calculated before this change may have shown a later deadline and a higher rate than the law gives.

Trade formats corrected for GST 2.0
The garment page now reflects the ₹2,500 per-piece threshold for 5% and 18%. The transporter page reflects the 5% or 18% option that replaced the earlier 12% one. Each worked example is now calculated at the rate that applies to that trade, where previously every example used 18% for illustration. The medical practitioner example is shown as a bill of supply, because exempt supplies do not go on a tax invoice.

MSE payment deadline checker
A new tool for buyers. List what you owe to micro and small suppliers and it shows which payables put this year’s tax deduction at risk under section 43B(h), or section 37(2)(g) of the Income-tax Act 2025 from tax year 2026-27.
-
Sources on every guide, and the 2025 Act
Each guide now ends with the provisions it relies on, so every claim can be checked. The 45-day rule guide now covers how the income tax disallowance moved from section 43B(h) to section 37(2)(g), and notes that retail and wholesale traders are generally outside the delayed-payment provisions.
-
Guide publication dates
Five guides carried publication dates from April to June 2026. They were written and first published on this site on 10 September 2026, and their dates now say so.
