Privacy policy
The short version: the free tools send us nothing. We collect personal data only when you join the invite list, use THQT, or agree to analytics and advertising, and only what each of those needs.

1. Who is responsible
Kartikeya Mishra, trading as THQT, decides how and why the personal data described here is processed. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 we are the Data Fiduciary; under the GDPR we are the controller. Our grievance officer's details are at the end of this policy.
2. The free tools collect nothing
The calculators, generators, checker and validator on this website run entirely in your browser. Amounts, dates, customer names, GSTINs and anything else you type are not sent to us or anyone else, and are discarded when you close the tab.
The only exception is the "remember my business details" box in the invoice generator. If you tick it, your own business name, address, GSTIN and bank details are saved in your browser's local storage on that device only. They are never transmitted. Clear them with the button on the tool or by clearing site data in your browser.
3. What we collect, and why
If you join the invite list
- Your email address, to send your invite and launch news you asked for.
- The answers you choose to give (your line of work, invoice volume, current tool, what slows you down, what a solution would be worth). All optional. Used to decide who to invite first and what to build.
- The consent you gave: that you agreed, the version of the wording, and the time.
- Coarse attribution: the campaign tags in the link you followed and the name of the site that referred you, if any, and the invite code of anyone who shared their link with you. Never the full address of the page you came from.
We do not collect your IP address, device details or location with your invite request. Your email is stored under a one-way fingerprint of itself, which is what stops duplicate entries.
Basis: your consent, given by ticking the box on the form.
If you use THQT
- Account details: your email and sign-in method.
- Business details you enter: name, address, GSTIN, state, bank and UPI details, which print on your invoices.
- Your records: customers, invoices, payment status and the reminders you send.
- Billing records from Razorpay: plan, amount, dates and status of payments. Not your card or bank credentials.
Basis: to provide the service you signed up for, and to meet legal duties such as keeping payment records.
Your invoices contain personal data about your customers. For that data, you are the one deciding why it is processed; we process it on your behalf, only to run the service, and do not use it for anything else.
If you agree to analytics
Google Analytics 4 measures which pages and tools are used and where visitors arrive from, using cookies and a truncated IP address. It does not see anything you type into a tool. We use it to decide what to build and improve. If you choose "Only essential", no analytics cookie is set and nothing is measured; Google Consent Mode is set to denied on every page before any tag loads.
Basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
If you agree to advertising
Some guide and tool pages carry advertising served by Google AdSense. With your consent, Google and its partners may use cookies to show and measure ads, including ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings. There are no ads on the homepage, the invite page, the pricing page, contact or any legal page, and none inside a tool's input area.
Basis: your consent. Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland see Google's own consent message.
If you email us
We keep your message and address for as long as needed to deal with it, then delete it.
Server logs
Like every website, our hosting provider records technical request logs (IP address, time, page requested, browser type) for security and reliability. These are kept on the provider's standard schedule and not combined with anything else.
4. Who processes data for us
We use a small number of service providers, each only for the purpose listed:

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers. We disclose it otherwise only where the law requires, for example to comply with a valid order of a court or authority.
5. Where data is stored
Some of our providers store or process data outside India. Where they do, we rely on the provider's safeguards and on the transfer being permitted under Indian law, and we will not transfer data to any country the Government of India restricts.
6. How long we keep it
- Invite list: until you are invited and for 12 months after THQT opens publicly, or until you ask us to remove you, whichever comes first.
- THQT account data: while your account is open. Deleted when you ask us to close it, except records we must keep by law.
- Payment records: for the period Indian tax and accounting law requires, currently up to eight years.
- Analytics: on the retention period set in Google Analytics, currently 14 months.
- Email correspondence: as long as needed to resolve it, then deleted.
7. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, if you are in India, you can:
- Ask for a summary of the personal data we process about you and how;
- Ask us to correct, complete, update or erase it;
- Withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it;
- Nominate someone to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to;
- Have a grievance addressed by our grievance officer, and then escalate it to the Data Protection Board of India.
If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the GDPR rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and may complain to your supervisory authority.
To use any right, email grievance@thqt.me from the address concerned. There is no form and no fee. We may ask you to confirm the request comes from you. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already done, and every invite and launch email carries an unsubscribe link.

9. Security
Data is encrypted in transit. The invite list cannot be read from a browser at all: our database rules allow new entries to be created and refuse every read, change and deletion from outside. THQT account data is readable only by its owner. Payments never touch our servers. If a breach affecting your personal data occurs, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.
10. Children
THQT is for businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect a child's personal data. If you believe a child has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.
11. Changes
If we change this policy, the date at the top changes and the change is recorded on the changelog. If a change affects what you consented to, we will ask you again before relying on it.
